Thank you for your strength, kindness & compassion during the pregnancy,
labor & delivery of our dearest Hazel Quinn. You made me feel like the most
powerful queen a woman could be during labor & delivery.
You gave Shane the strength & comfort he needed by being by his side.
Our words can’t express how grateful we are to have met you & experienced this
journey with you.

Chris has an exceptional ability to read, respect, and love expectant parents. During labor, she constantly sensed my fears and emotions and offered appropriate support that was specific to my experience. When I felt strong, she encouraged me to walk, enjoy a snack, and take a respite from the contractions. When I felt weak, she offered back rubs, position changes, and positive reminders. I was moved by how much time she gave to me and my husband before, during, and after the birth of our baby, and I feel so fortunate that she still drops by to see us as a family. We were not originally planning on having a doula present at our birth, but as I prepared myself for labor, I realized how important it would be to have someone there who understood and had experienced the physical and emotional sensations that accompany such a long and challenging endeavor. Chris has a deep understanding of labor, and a genuine concern for both parents as they navigate labor for the first or subsequent time. Her role was not to give instructions to us, but to support our own decisions and reinforce our goals. Her ideas helped us develop a realistic birth plan that was respected by our hospital, talk through our deepest and scariest expectations of childbirth, and guide us through labor in the way we had communicated to each other as a couple. With the help of Chris, we were able to have a birth experience that was calm, beautiful, and filled with joyous memories and moments. I am so proud to say I love sharing my birth story!
I just got done looking at the pictures you gave me and totally got choked up (in a good way). I wanted to say thank you one more time for your support! I had prayed about my decision to hire a doula and asked God to send the right one my way. I truly believe my prayers were answered! All of the "homework" you had given me to do to prepare for the labor was so helpful, from the positive affirmations, and scriptures, to the relaxation techniques, it all came in handy. Your support during my hospital stay was key in how quick and easy the last few hours of my labor went: advising me to "nudge" her down during that hour before I was able to start pushing, helping me keep my focus, and telling me to listen to my body and just do what it was telling me to do! I had prayed that I would have a better birth experience my second time around and you were part of the reason that happened! It was really nice to see you again for our follow up meeting, and I really appreciated the thoughtful gifts you brought over, especially remembering Beau's birthday! How sweet of you! I hope to stay in touch and pray God's blessings over you and your family. Thank you again for everything!
XOXO, Renee ❤
As new parents, one thing we knew for sure was that we wanted a postpartum doula. We had family and friends to help, but we wanted them to remain exactly that- family and friends. We were eager for an expert to guide us into parenthood. After our meet 'n greet we immediately knew Chris was the doula for us. Her energy was calm, she knew how to handle our jitters and was open minded to our parenting goals. We loved her so much we hired her to be our birthing doula! A birthing doula was something we considered, yet never put too much thought into having one. I knew I was having a big baby and wanted as much of a natural birth as possible. We knew hospitals can push you into unnecessary cesareans and we wanted to avoid that from happening. We also knew by having a doula your chances of cesareans decrease by 80%. Chris helped me labor at home when the hospital wouldn't admit me just yet. Her techniques to alleviate the intensity of the contractions and calm energy made all the difference. She was an amazing coach for my husband and me.
We are so thankful we hired Chris, as my labor experience lasted a whopping 36 hours with 2.5 hours of active pushing- phew! We were able to fulfill my birth plan and avoided a cesarean.
I was in pretty rough shape after the birth and having Chris there to help postpartum to get us through the nights was a lifesaver! She helped us transition home and went above and beyond making me DELICIOUS lactation cookies, essential oils spray and referring me to a lactation consultant when breastfeeding became challenging.
We are now in the swing of things and we couldn't have done it without her help. Highly recommend hiring Chris - it will save your sanity and ease your fears.

When I first met Chris, she immediately made me feel at ease, and I was certain I had found the perfect doula to help me with the birth journey of my first child. We met a few times before the birth (and with my husband one time as well) to discuss goals, expectations, fears, concerns, etc…and Chris was able to provide so much support! I even had some heartburn issues that she was able to suggest and provide samples of an essential oil that worked to alleviate the pain. The tools she provided to me and my husband (affirmations and general information) were what I believed to be essential in the successful labor and delivery process we had.
When my water broke at 38+3 at home at 3am, she answered my phone call immediately and met us at the hospital. She labored with me there for 4 hours (I labored at home to 7 cm in a short time period before leaving for hospital) before I started to push. She offered water and food, which I knew were important for keeping my stamina, but they were certainly the last things on my mind. She provided comfort and support for my husband and me and made the birthing process actually not so bad! She suggested position changes, relaxation techniques and was completely easy to communicate with what did and did not work for me. Unfortunately, after 2 hours of pushing things got pretty intense as my son was stuck and I ended up having an emergency C-Section. She interacted with the medical staff so kindly and knew when to step aside, allowing my husband to step forward and us to make some tough decisions. I am so grateful that she was able to photograph the first moments of my husband and son interacting as I was still sedated from the general anesthesia.
Once we were home, she came over to visit and has since sent an e-mail or text here and there to make sure I was doing okay. Chris really feels like an extended member of my family and I am looking forward to working with her again in the future!

I am an ICU nurse and my fiancée is a respiratory therapist who used to work in a NICU, so all the births we had ever witnessed had been emergent. Because of that, I was so nervous about the birth process, the pain and unknown outcome of things that can happen. I ended up taking a class with Chris that really helped alleviate so much of that fear. I felt like I was given the tools to work through the discomfort. My fiancée said how much better he felt knowing that he could help rather than just sit there and watch me go through this. The birth of my baby was long and took many complicated turns, but the breathing exercises and the counter pressure techniques we learned helped tremendously, I'm not sure I could have done it without the tools we were given. Chris was a wonderful empowering teacher, and I would recommend her class to anyone wanting to learn how to take birth into their own hands rather than just do whatever technique the nurse on duty or doctor may have for you.
Thank you soo, so much for all your support, love and presence. I am so blessed we found you. From the moment we met I knew there was a connection and something special about you: your calm and caring demeanor, nurturing and loving way about you…I was instantly smitten. I can’t wait to tell Finn his birth story when he grows up!
Much love always,
Thank you for your calm and steady guidance during Griffin’s amazing birth journey. Your experienced maternal presence allowed me to be truly present during the birth and to focus all my love and support on Selena - not on a flooded floor or a myriad of other distractions. We are so glad to have had you as part of our small but unified birth team! Thank you sincerely for all that you did for us on the biggest day (and night) of our lives together!
With love and gratitude,
Chris was amazing! I really cannot adequately put into words how wonderful she was for our whole family, but here goes!
We were initially looking to hire a postpartum doula only since UCSD has a inter doula program, but once we met her, we were really impressed by her kind gentle and compassionate manner- she was also extremely knowledgable about birth and the postpartum. She also had a great energy about her - very calm and reassuring. We contemplated having her as a backup in case there was no volunteer at UCSD but the more we interacted with her we decided that we 100% wanted her there with us.
But where Chris really shined was when I developed a complication at 34 weeks- I developed severe pubic symphysis syndrome and she was so helpful in connecting me to resources, listening to my questions and concerns, and providing excellent emotional support. I remember her advice about fear and anxiety and how to work through them was very helpful.
During the birth, she was so physically and emotionally present that I felt like I had someone literally birthing with me. Thanks to her support at home before we went in, I was able to do a lot of my labor at home, which I had wanted, and overall had a great birth. She interacted so well with the hospital staff and was so kind and helpful to my husband and mom, who were also there to support me. My mom particularly was so grateful to Chris and really appreciated her.
After we returned home, Chris came over our first night home. The first night home can be tough, but again Chris was there to make sure my husband and I got some rest, helped me with breastfeeding and took wonderful care of baby. She organized an area for all my postpartum meds and things, and brought over a wonderful essential oil mix to help with healing that i have used every day since. We could not have survived that first night without her!
Chris also provided postpartum care at night for our infant, which again was a lifesaving thing in the first few weeks of a new baby. She has a great way with babies and they can sense her calmness and our baby really took to her.
In summary, Chris gave me support beyond what I ever expected or even knew I needed for my pregnancy, birth and postpartum course. I recommend her 110% and we truly regard her as a member of our family now for her wonderful care and kindness.
We had an amazing birth experience! Our doula Chris helped us in so many ways before, during and after this life changing event. She was calm and confident, and supported my husband and me during our long adventure at the hospital. Chris has the experience to know what is helpful- from suggesting different positions, creating a calm environment with lavender oil and candles, rebozo, lactation cookies...and the list goes on. She is very respectful and worked well with the medical staff at the hospital. We are so grateful to have found Chris as our doula. She helped us have a wonderful birthing and we would highly recommend her to all of our friends.
Thank you Chris! We will always remember you and your important role in our little boy's entrance into the world.

After having boy/girl twins, my husband and I hired Chris as a post-partum doula at the recommendation of our lactation consultant. Four weeks after the twins were born, I was still recovering from my surgery and having a lot of challenges trying to feed two babies. Since all of the grandparents live across the country and could only come out for the first month and my husband needed to return to work, I really needed help. Thankfully, Chris came to our rescue. Every weekday for several weeks, Chris helped care for my babies and for me. I don't know what we would have done without her! In addition to being a wonderful caregiver and doula, she is a very interesting person and our talks helped keep me from losing my mind in those difficult postpartum weeks. I wish we had hired her sooner (before the grandparents left)! I highly recommend her as a postpartum doula. If we have another baby, we'll hire Chris for before and after the birth!
My husband and I had chosen to deliver in the Birth Center at UCSD Hillcrest and we were so excited about having a natural childbirth in this amazing facility. We knew that we would like to have a doula to guide us through the most special day of our lives together. We did a ton of research and ended up interviewing three different doulas. Chris was the last one that interviewed and we knew right away she was the perfect fit for us. From the moment we met she was warm, kind and very interested in us as people. My husband and I are both actors and she had already researched us online showing us that she was already willing to go above and beyond.Chris met with us in our home and talked us through different labor positions and techniques and helped us develop a birth plan. She always gave gentle guidance but never pushed her own agenda. It was so comforting to know that she had given birth to all 5 of her children naturally. I felt she had wisdom and practical knowledge that other doulas were not able to offer.
At week 38 my baby was breech and UCSD informed me that they do not do breech deliveries. They wanted to schedule a c-section. We were devastated. We tried every thing to help our baby to turn. I mean everything, but no luck. I was so disappointed that we had hired a doula and now, I thought, we weren’t even going to need her.
Well, I have never been so wrong, we needed a doula now more than ever because EVERYTHING changed and it changed fast! I felt my dreams of a natural birth were completely dashed and that I had been robbed of one of the most special experiences a mother can have. Chris was invaluable during this huge shift in plans. We had to switch from mid-wives to OBGYN’s and all my appointment times shifted and my husband could not attend the appointments. Chris came with me and was such an important emotional support during this time. She let me vent to her, she checked in with me everyday, sometimes several times a day if she saw that I needed more support and she met with me just to have coffee and talk through the upcoming surgery. She brought me lactation cookies, nipple butter, rice/flax heat packs, a foot soak for my HUGE swollen feet, lactation tea, she even made me a swaddle sack for my baby.
On the day of our c-section she met us at the hospital at 5:30am and was a wonderful emotional support (for me and my husband) during the pre-op. She also helped document our entire experience by taking pictures from the moment we arrived at the hospital. Luckily the anesthesiologist allowed her to come into the operating room during the surgery. The photos she took are my only clear memories of my son’s birth. I remember sections of the procedure but there are holes in my memory because of the anesthesia. When I look at the photos she took I feel so blessed that I have the birth documented. This also freed my husband up to fully pay attention to me, not worry about documenting the event. We could both truly experience it instead.
After the surgery Chris massaged my feet in the recovery room and stayed with me until they moved to my room. During my recovery time in the hospital she visited me and checked in with me several times. She was always there to reassure and encourage me.
When I returned home Chris came by for our final postpartum visit. We talked through the birth and the different emotions I was feeling about having a c-section, my struggles with breastfeeding. I had also decided to do the belly binding that she offers which I HIGHLY recommend. So she did my belly binding and then showed my husband how to do it for me everyday. The binding and the spice blend she used were so comforting and the binding was supportive which was so important for me after the c-section.
I can’t say enough wonderful things about Chris. She was a true blessing during this entire experience. I am so grateful to have found her and to have not only a wonderful doula, but a friend.
My husband and I were hesitant to hire a doula, as we were concerned that a third person might interfere with the intimacy and bonding experience involved with birthing our baby. Upon meeting Chris, our hesitations disappeared quickly – she was receptive and very respectful of our wishes, needs and concerns. In our pre-birth meetings with Chris, she previewed what we were to expect, answered our questions, in addition to suggesting breathing and laboring positions. Thanks to her support, we felt confident in ourselves and what to expect when the day arrived.
We labored overnight until the early morning when our son was born. Chris was attentive and supporting throughout the long hours. During the entire birth, her professionalism was only matched by her motherly love and true affection. Her presence was extremely comforting not only to me, but also to my husband, who felt empowered and reassured throughout. Chris played a critical role in the birth of our son, without taking anything away from our experience as a couple.
We highly recommend Chris as a doula and team player. She heightened our birth experience and we are forever grateful.
Chris is worth her weight in GOLD. My husband and I were looking for someone who would help us have the most natural birth possible and who would serve as an 'expert' resource for us as we had our first baby. Chris went above and beyond on both accounts. We were lucky enough to have exactly the birth experience we wanted- Chris supported both my husband and me in exactly the way we needed on our baby's birth day. She helped with pain management techniques, instructing my husband in how to support me, standing in on hip squeezes when his arms needed a break, making sure we ate and drank enough, helping me make decisions when I was fatigued, and being an unwavering source of comfort and confidence that I could in fact get this baby here the way I wanted!
Chris' presence in our home and in our room at the birth center was calm and steady. She worked seamlessly with the midwife and nursing staff, as well as with the strong/protective personality my husband has, and my own tendency to over prepare/analyze. She also proved that she can roll with the punches (we had a made-for-movies drive to the hospital in a thunderstorm, through the gay pride parade street closings, mudslides on 163, a police escort, etc) and be very patient with my baby who wanted to take her very sweet time as she hung around in the birth canal. She helped me navigate my choices when it felt like I was being pushed a bit from my birth plan and she appropriately stepped back to let the hospital staff handle a scary moment toward the end of my delivery.
Chris' expertise through my pregnancy and now in the postpartum stage are what we were looking for when making the decision to hire a doula. Rather than spending hours researching things on the internet, I know that I can call or text Chris and she will have an informed answer. Her suggestions for creating space to bond before visitors arrive and to really take it slow for the first several weeks postpartum have allowed us to establish ourselves and thrive as a new family unit (these things might seem obvious, but Chris has a knack for communicating certain things in a way that they can be heard and understood, and in these instances, actually done). Chris' visits have supported us mentally, emotionally and physically (the belly binding has made a significant difference in nursing neck/back pain and helping my body shift towards pre baby shape).
My husband and I have begun recommending Chris to people who aren't even pregnant. We hope to have her at the births of all of our children.
Love, Lindsay and Alex
When my husband and I decided we wanted a doula as part of our birth experience, we had no idea how lucky we would be to have Chris. We worked with a two doula team (in the event that one was called away to another birth) and both Chris and Annely were awesome right from the start. I'll speak specifically to Chris, as she was the doula we worked with at the birth. Chris was extremely open-minded and positive. Her encouragement right from the beginning was comforting and confidence boosting. My labor was complicated and even though our birth plan went out the window, Chris was extremely knowledgeable and supportive in the comfort measures she was able to offer despite the plan change. My husband is probably the biggest fan of her (even more than me, which is hard to top) because she was able to guide him through the labor process with me and made him feel helpful and useful during labor. She also documented our labor and birth with pictures and a timeline - so nice to have after the fact when parts of the experience felt like a blur. So pleased with our decision to work with her; it was a pleasure and honor to have her as part of our birth team.
Chris was indispensable in my birthing experience! She was eager to assist me prior to the birth, during, and after. She gave me encouragement, advice, helped me to remain calm when things got hard, assisted my husband in helping me, and even stayed an entire night at my home to help me with the baby afterwards.
I contacted her very late in my pregnancy- probably around 35 weeks. Mh pregnancy was a miracle surprise pregnancy at 43 years old after a lifetime of infertility. Having been on bed rest for parts of it, I did not attend birthing classes, and as the date approached I began to feel a doula could be helpful for me. I had interviewed two other doulas but when I met Chris I knew she was the right doula for us. She met with us in our home and gave us a crash course in birthing. She loaned me birthing cd's, materials and made some wonderful suggestions. I ended up being induced at 38 weeks and my birth ended in an emergency c section. Chris was there with me through it and helped me. I'm very thankful I had her. After the birth she continued to support us by following up with calls and emails, and visiting. She went above and beyond in her duties and I would highly recommend her without hesitation.

I was referred to Chris by our doula for HypnoBirthing lessons. By the time I had decided on HypnoBirthing it was a little late in my pregnancy and Chris was very accomodating. We did the private lessons with her and she was able to tailor the program to fit into 2 1/2 weeks which was key since I was about 36 weeks when we started. She came to us, was always on time...not early or late and she was always prepared with lots of handouts and goodies for us. She even made some homemade lactation cookies for our last session and brought us a second batch after delivery when she came back to do my belly bind. My birth plan was to do a natural childbirth in the hospital. Once things got going the plan changed. After about 24hrs of labor I decided to take the epidural. The HypnoBirthing came in very handy both before and after the epidural, and postpartum. In early labor it helped me stay calm and focused and in control of my labor. During the active phase it really helped with the surges and I'm not sure I could have stayed still during the epidural placement if I hadn't used my breathing techniques to stay focused. It also allowed me to breathe the baby down for an hour prior to pushing. I felt very in control the entire time and I give all the credit to my training and amazing coach! After delivery, Chris came over to do my belly bind which worked incredibly well. I was back in my pre-pregnancy pants in 7 days! My back and hip pain went away almost instantly. I highly recommend this treatment to get feeling back to normal. For the next couple of weeks Chris also checked in on us via email or text message and was available for any questions. She's a great resource and I couldn't imagine going through this without her help!!
Being a mother of three I definitely felt like I knew what to expect while in labor. I knew I did not want to go at it without my doula Chris (who I was lucky enough to have at my last birth as well.) Just like every pregnancy is different, so is every labor. One thing that didn't change was Chris and the love she puts into each and every birth. She made me so confident and comfortable, reassuring me every step of the way. Postpartum, Chris shared my labor photos and it made me realize even more how she really enjoys what she does - it was so beautiful to see my son’s birth thru her eyes. Thank you Chris, for being such a great doula (and friend) and truly loving what you do! - Kara Adamo
No words can truly describe how amazing Chris is as a doula. Our second experience with her was as great as the first. What stands out the most is how Chris can adapt to any situation. Her calming demeanor and motherly instincts help to reduce the stress from the birth - before, during, and after. Chris has the ability to be present in a very non-intrusive way. Her knowledge and guidance are never critical or abrasive, especially for the fathers. As always we are blessed to have Chris in our lives and the lives of our children.
- Anthony (TJ) Adamo
Chris was our birth doula for my beautiful March 2015 home birth, and we also took HypnoBirthing class with her. The birth was an experience of a lifetime, and I am 100% convinced that it went so well as a result of Chris being part of it, along with the education we gained from taking class with her. She was with me every step of the way, from the moment we brought her on, and even continuing to guide me after the baby arrived. Chris thought of everything to help me be prepared and to make me feel comfortable during the birth, and I felt extremely supported and confident as a result. She is one of the most generous people I have ever met. My baby was twelve days late, and Chris helped me maintain faith in the process, my baby and my body. She seems to have an innate, intuitive knowledge of how to comfort women leading up to and during birth. There is no chance I would have gotten through my contractions and been able to have the natural birth I wanted if Chris hadn't used her massage and counter pressure techniques on me. And her strong, quietly confident words were exactly what I needed to hear to in those moments.
In addition to using her as our doula, we took Chris's HypnoBirthing class, which was both engaging and informative. She has the perfect touch in terms of making the information fun to learn, and also getting through all of the material. We felt very prepared -- and even excited about the birth -- after having taken her class. My husband and I are so grateful to have found her. Hiring Chris Dorman as your doula is the most incredible gift you can give to yourself and your baby.

This course was very helpful in reinforcing my beliefs in a natural birth. Your sessions were informative and I loved the videos. You seem to have a true passion for your position in teaching pregnant women about their options. I’m so glad to have had the experience with you.

As first time parents to be, you are often bombarded with so many negative birth stories. Wanting a more positive and natural experience, we enrolled in Chris's HypnoBirthing class to change that negative perception. What we learned were a variety of relaxation and meditation techniques to assist you in labor, as well as the biological processes that your body goes through. This knowledge and understanding, as well as practiced meditations made all the difference with our birth experience. We were more informed and relaxed which helped to eliminate the fear-tension cycle.
My husband and I recommend taking Chris's class. She is highly experienced and educated in HypnoBirthing. Her classes provide a friendly, comfortable environment.

I was very blessed to have a team of extraordinary professionals taking care of me throughout my pregnancy with twins and beyond. Chris was one of my post-partum doulas. She of course did all the things a post-partum doula would do with ease. She changed diapers, fed the babies, held them, swaddled them, and woke me up to nurse or pump. And she did it all with tremendous love and thoughtfulness. She sang to my babies. She lent an ear when my hormones were raging and I wanted to run through the details of my birth (usually around 4am). Chris' shifts kept her at our house through the morning hours when my other children were waking up and getting ready for school. She helped care for everyone! Chris always went above and beyond for us. She made us each stunning Chanukah gifts and provided us with homemade batches of essential oil remedies to cure stretch marks, baby congestion, and even something to ward off head lice when it was going around my daughter's school. Chris is a doula who does more than help her clients. She loves, honors, and cares for them as if they are members of her own cherished family. She helped us get through an amazing yet challenging transitional time in our life. Chris is an exceptional person and her doula skills are simply an extension of her.
I had an accidental homebirth. My labor lasted 7 hours from start to finish on Tuesday, October 28th, 2014. James was born and Chris delivered her first baby. It was all very peaceful and Chris was calm, positive and encouraging--even when James decided to make his dramatic debut a foot away from our front door on my dining room floor. The morning before, I thought I was in labor, so I got out of bed and called Chris to come over. My labor stopped and I slept until the late morning while she waited for me to wake up and see if my labor woud progress. Chris was very patient. We went out to lunch and for a nice brisk walk together to try and jumpstart some more intense surges. Later on, my midwife checked me and said she did not think that James would come out until the end of the week. I had been three centimeters dialted for a month and James was still not descending at all. That night, I went into labor and I used hyponobirthing tracks along with “Childbirth in the Glory" music, to breathe though my surges. As a side note, I took a HypnoBirthing class with Chris as the instructor. I finally called her Tuesday morning and I asked her if she thought I was in labor. (The HypnoBirthing techniques are amazing!) She was a calm and peaceful presence through the whole labor and delivery. Chris used essential oils like peppermint and clary sage to help me through contractions. She had me move to the bathtub to labor where my water broke. Chris got me out of the tub and helped me into a dress while my husband went to get the car so we could get to Good Samaritan Hospital, where my midwife was waiting. I had one more surge at the front door and James was on his way out. Chris calmly said "we are not going to make it," and called the paramedics. I felt no pain delivering James naturally, and having Chris with me gave me the confidence and serenity I needed to have a happy and healthy nautral delivery. I am eternally grateful to her!
You often hear people say" Don't give birth without a Doula." I say "Don't give birth without Chris!" She is professional, sweet, calm, knowledgeable, and much more. I could go on and on saying she is the best. Chris took away the pain during my contractions. I can say she was my epidural. I truly believe in a painless birth if you have the right support. Chris made me relax and I was able to concentrate in a manner that I had no fear and no pain. We would dance during each contraction and she would pray and say encouraging words into my ear. She used lots of essential oils, which were great. She was there giving me coconut water, cold compresses on my forehead, and even taking beautiful pictures whenever she could. She stayed with us until my husband, my baby and I were settled in our bed. My midwife and her assistant even commented on how great she was. She is available to her clients at all times, she cares for every little detail during your pregnancy, birth and postpartum. I am truly thankful for all the support she gave me, for being such a caring, sweet and loveable person. She is part of our family now.

When we started out on our birthing journey, we knew we wanted to have someone walk alongside with us that truly cared for us and was armed with the knowledge of how best to serve a laboring mother and an expectant father. We knew Chris was that person from the moment we met her. She is gentle, calming, and soothing in all of her actions and words. She truly has a heart that was made for service and that is made manifest in her being a doula. We know we would not have had the amazing birthing experience we had without Chris. She was always there for us whether is was a phone call just to check in prior to birth or staying up with us in the middle of the night as my labor began to progress. If her fee was one million dollars, we would gladly pay it because she is worth it! I felt like royalty while I was giving birth in our home specfically because of how cared for I was under Chris' watch. From gentle massage to calming affirmations Chris was the steady peacefulness that I needed. I cannot be more emphatic in my reccomendation of Chris. We are already looking forward to including her in the birth of our next child!!

Having Chris as our doula was the BEST decision my husband and I made during my pregnancy!!! We met with Chris for an initial consultation which was a great way to discuss our expectations for the birth of our baby. She also helped my husband understand his role during the birthing process (which he was really nervous about). Chris was so warm and gentle. It became immediately clear that Chris was the perfect doula for us. One of the most helpful things Chris did was provide fact-based information on birth and medical interventions which allowed my husband and I to make more informed choices about our birth plan. Chris was always available by phone, email or text to answer any questions I had. I called Chris when I went into labor and she came to our house because I wanted to labor at home as long as possible. I labored at home for about 20 hours before we went to the hospital. Chris was by my side the entire time helping me work with my body during labor. We tried various birthing positions (I was having back labor), massage and other techniques to help my body progress. Within 2 ½ hours of arriving at the hospital, our daughter was finally born. Chris stayed with us for several hours after the birth even though it was well after midnight and she hadn’t slept in over 24 hours. She even made me lactation cookies!! We can’t imagine what labor would have been like without Chris to support and guide us. I had some complications several days after our daughter was born and Chris was STILL there to support us as we walked through those challenges. Her dedication to us and our baby was extraordinary. We love Chris and are so grateful that she was a part of the most important day of our lives. She is absolutely amazing and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a doula that is willing to go the extra mile!!
Kristen & Mike
The course was so helpful! I felt that I learned a lot about labor, delivery and my own body…more like I “unlearned” all that our culture and the standard medical system has taught me directly & indirectly.
-The relaxation sessions were amazing, and so were the snacks!
-Your presentation was awesome. I would recommend HypnoBirthing by Chris to anyone who is pregnant.

I knew from the moment I found out we were expecting that I wanted a HypnoBirth. When we discovered the Palms Birth House, we were elated that they offered HypnoBirthing classes. We met Chris at a “Meet the Doula” event, and instantly loved her, but unfortunately, we couldn’t afford a doula. We were elated to find out that Chris was instructing one of the HypnoBirthing sessions, and immediately signed up for her class. Just as we had at the Meet the Doula night, we loved Chris as as our HypnoBirthing coach. Her relaxed nature and genuine desire to help mothers and fathers create the birth of THEIR choice really imprinted on our hearts. Chris has always been a wonderful resource, not only during class but also leading up to, during, and after our son’s birth. In case you can’t tell, we love Chris!

Chris is the best! She went above and beyond to help us with my birth and post natal questions. She was always available, attended a doctor visit with me and met with us several times to answer our questions and give us support. Imagine having a very loving and supporting family member at your birth, who is also very knowledgable and experienced in birthing and relaxation techniques. Very late in my pregnancy we switched to a birth house. We knew it was the right decision for us, but it was a stressful time, because we needed to catch up on the HypnoBirthing classes. Chris is a certified HypnoBirthing instructor so she helped us with the techniques. What sets her apart, however, is her caring, loving nature and her diligence. I started early labor very early on a Thursday morning and didn't want Chris to come by too soon because it wasn't progressing. Chris respected our wishes and came over that evening to help with some stretching and breathing. My birth did not really progress until 3 AM on Friday morning. When my husband sent Chris a text she quickly called back because she had been up all night waiting for the call. She came to my house to help us get to the birth house. At the birth house I was in the tub for about 3 hours and then tried other various techniques for about 4 hours before my son was born. Chris was at my side the entire time helping me with whatever I needed, giving me support, prayers (she knew that was important to me) and honey sticks for energy. At one point she thought my husband was losing steam so he gave him a massage. She even helped me find the best position to birth my son.Even though she had not slept, Chris was full of energy and support. The birth was so intense for us, but she was our rock. I don't know what we would have done without her. I now consider her a part of our family. I recommend Chris to all of my pregnant friends. If you are looking for a caring, loving and knowledgeable doula, you should speak with Chris!
We had a great experience with our doula Chris, for the birth of our first son. From our first consulation meeting with Chris, to the support leading up to the birth and the follow-up after the birth, all of the interactions we had with Chris were positive and exceeded our expectations. On the day of the birth, she met us at the hospital within an hour of our phone call to her. Chris is knowledgable in natural childbirth techniques (HypnoBirthing), which my wife successfully executed with her help and guidance. She was very well organized and helped us to navigate through the important decisions leading up to and on the day of the birth. She is a hands-on doula who performed various massage techniques that helped my wife have a successful, natural childbirth. She even brought some homemade cookies for the nurses on duty in the delivery area. I would definately suggest the services of doula Chris. She is great!
When I became pregnant with my daughter, it was very important to me to have the most natural birthing experience possible. One of the most beneficial things we did during my pregnancy was look for a doula...thankfully we found Chris! During stressful moments throughout my pregnancy when things became uncertain, Chris was a shoulder to lean on. She was always a phone call away and provided us with resources and information that we found helpful and comforting due to her depth of knowledge. During the birth itself, we could not have asked for a better person to be part of our "team." She was caring, concerned, attentive and knowledgeable, allowing us both to put our worries aside and focus on staying relaxed, so we could enjoy our birth experience. We are so thankful to have had the privilege to have her at our birth, and we wouldn't recommend anyone doing it without her! Thank you Chris...You're amazing! Love, Shannon & Javier
Chris, I can't thank you enough for your support as my Doula during the birth of my daughter Mia. Since this was my second natural birth I knew what to expect but it honestly made me more anxious to go through it again. I did have a Doula for my first birth which was also a natural vaginal birth but this one was very different in all the right ways. Prior to Mia's birth I was so impressed by the support you provided by coming to my OB appointments and ultrasounds, as well as coming by the house with the lactation cookies (that I am now addicted to) and hospital car kit (which we thankfully did not need :) ). This pre-birth support really built up my confidence in you as my Doula as well as gave me an opportunity to get to know you better before the big day! As far as the birth went I felt I was able to remain calm and to control my breathing thanks to your verbal cueing. The massaging of my feet, hands and the distraction techniques you used while I was having contractions really helped keep my pain level under control and take my mind off of some of it. The fact that I was really able to relax between contractions made the whole experience better. I also feel this had everything to do with what you were doing at the time to help me not focus on the pain. Thank you again for your part in making this birth the one I have always wanted to have! I am so happy to have had you as my Doula and would recommend you to anyone!
Chris was an amazing help with the birth of our daughter! Chris met us prior to our visit to the hospital to help us gain an understanding of what she does as a doula and how she would be able to help. She made us feel at ease and helped us formulate a birth plan which gave us a sense of confidence in our lives that, at the time, were filled with enthusiastic chaos. Chris made wonderful recommendations but was also keen to listen to our wishes as well. Being a mother herself, Chris excels in being able to understand the concerns of expectant parents as well as the complexity of pregnancy. Chris’s knowledge, focus and cheerful demeanor were a huge asset to have during our baby girl's birth. We absolutely recommend Chris to any parents-to-be and wish you all the best of luck...but with Chris around you won’t need much!

Having the fortune of meeting Chris really turned my pregnancy around. I was actually very anxious about becoming a mother and birthing. I met Chris 5 months before my due date, and I'm so glad I met her early on. She advised me which birthing center would be best for me which I was unaware of which completely changed the direction of my prenatal care. My husband and I took her Hypnobirthing class and working with her made me look forward to giving birth. I felt very cared for with both her birth and postpartum doula services. I value her wisdom as a mother of 5 and her calm, nurturing demeanor. I would gladly and enthusiastically recommend her to any mother looking for doula services.
